About Me

In 2013, Skylar completed her studies at the University of North Florida, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Skylar’s undergraduate Psychology studies were completed at the University of South Florida. After graduating with her Master’s Degree, Skylar worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor at Lakeview Health in Jacksonville Florida from 2013 to 2021. Her work as an inpatient therapist at Lakeview provided her with extensive experience working with patients of varying demographics and diagnoses.

After eight fulfilling years working in the realm of substance abuse, Skylar sought a new challenge and decided to pursue working with patients who did not present with substance abuse as a primary reason for seeking treatment. From 2021 to 2023, Skylar has worked as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing individual therapy to patients in-person and via tele health in a group practice setting at Pacifica Care Jacksonville.

As a commitment to her personal growth and development Skylar made the decision to open her own private practice. Beginning a private practice has been a goal of Skylar’s since graduating from the University of North Florida. The ten years that have led to this point in her career have been Skylar’s investment to her current and future patients, establishing herself as a reputable professional in her space.

Did we forget to mention that Skylar is a cat lover? Since she is front and center on the front page of the website, we’ve instead provided pictures of her fur babies Joey and Bynx.
